Is it true NGH once said "there are only two colors to paint a boat - White and Black - and only a damn fool paints a boat black." ?

I like it though.... ;D

The owner is aware of the above quote.  It didn't bother him though...

I should have some launch pictures mid-July!

#2 and #3 are in the works!

What is the build time to new? That seemed awfully fast! Will she be seen at the regatta?

Right now build time is about 5 months.  Hoping to get it down to 20 weeks by hull #3.   The Herreshoff Regatta is a question mark right now.  She will definitely be at the Newport Boat Show, but hopefully will make it to Narragansett Bay before then as well.

5 months/20 weeks seems amazingly fast for a wood hull - is it significantly less for a fiberglass version? I can't imagine so.

Beautiful bronze hardware - Reineck?

Are 1-3 sold or are they being done on speculation?

If I wear my long overcoat, sunglasses and Groucho 'stash, can I pose as a perspective buyer and get a sail?

You would be surprised how fast the cold-molded hull goes together.   The largest difference is in the fairing / finishing time.   For my money the difference in finished product is worth so much more than any difference in labor time.  I spent a few thousand miles sailing some very high-end composite (carbon fiber and fiberglass) yachts this winter and spring and the experience simply did not compare to being on a cold-molded or plank-on-frame boat.

Yes, J.M. Rieneck hardware.

#1 and #2 are sold, #3 will be on the boat show circuit next winter (unless it sells this summer, in which case #4 will be on the show circuit)

Adam: you're welcome to sail anytime!  No overcoat required...
